Description
This pad has a ¼ inch (6.5mm) thickness of the Pro-lite ‘gel-foam’ along the full length of the saddle panels, plus… an additional ¼ inch (6.5mm), internal lift at the front.
A very effective and comfortable pad to use under a saddle for horses who are going through a Remedial Saddling programme, and for horses who are well developed but show a preference for a well cushioned feel between their backs and the underside of the saddle.
The THV Saddling Pro-Complete ¼ inch Base Pad
Because of the lift it creates under the front of the saddle, the saddle width must have been chosen to allow for this, without it causing the saddle to tip back.
Many horses like this Base Pad used on top of either one of our Regular thickness saddle pads or the Extra thick version. Despite it being quite thin, it provides a cushioned feel with the benefits of the properties found in gel-foams but is thin enough not to create too much of a bouncy feel for the horse and rider.
It has the loop side of a hook/loop fixing system along the full length and can therefore, have any of the THV Saddling Pro-Complete Add-On Pads attached as necessary. The Colour options are Black or Brown, which have a hard-wearing and attractive faux suede covering or a Bright White, which has a hard wearing cotton covering.
- Please note:
- If your horse is very underdeveloped or muscle wasted back in the saddle area, he/she might need the added protection that the 1/2 inch version of this pad provides.
- If you ride in a saddle with foam panels, your horse might prefer the feel of the Wool-Fleece version of the Base Pad.
- The pads are available in 2 lengths… Regular and Long.
